This panorama, taken by Christopher Gjevre, honors the official dedication and opening game at Pegula Ice Arena on October 11, 2013. In a fitting tribute, the Penn State men’s hockey team christened the new arena with a 4-1 win over the Army Black Knights. The new $90 million state-of-the-art hockey palace has an official capacity of more than 6,000, including 1000 student tickets. The building will also host many other events including youth and adult hockey leagues, education programs and figure skating sessions. The new arena went from dream to reality, as the result of a donation from Terry and Kim Pegula, who made the largest single gift in Penn State history.
