This season commemorates two milestone 30th anniversaries for Arkansas basketball, the first being the 1994 NCAA championship where Arkansas defeated Duke 76-72 to earn the national title, and the second being the 30th anniversary of the first game played in Bud Walton Arena, on this exact date, November 29. These two teams had previously met only four times, all in tournament play, but with this game, the Hogs took a 3-2 lead in the rivalry, defeating the Blue Devils 80-75.
