This panorama captures the excitement of the 2016 NHL Heritage Classic™ in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Winnipeg Jets™ played host to the Edmonton Oilers® at this outdoor game on October 23, 2016. The event launched the 2016-2017 outdoor season for the NHL® and marked the first appearance for the Winnipeg Jets in an outdoor game. This is the fourth NHL Heritage Classic, which traditionally includes only Canadian teams. The matchup between Winnipeg and Edmonton pays tribute to the shared hockey history between the two cities, as both the Edmonton Oilers and the Winnipeg Jets entered the NHL in 1979 as part of a four-team expansion.
