This game marks the first time that Washington State University hosted ESPN College GameDay on campus. The event was 15 years in the making, beginning on October 4, 2003, when the WSU™ Ol’ Crimson flag first appeared in the crowd at the College GameDay broadcast. That same flag has traveled the country and materialized on the set of every GameDay broadcast since that date, 217 shows. The signature flag even has its own Twitter account and booster club. This truly became a day to remember for Cougars fans as they were finally rewarded for their persistence, pride and spirit as College GameDay came to Pullman, Washington and the Cougs™ defeated Pac-12 rival, the #12-ranked Oregon Ducks® on October 20, 2018.
