This panorama, taken by Christopher Gjevre, features the stunning $485 million redevelopment of Kyle Field and the rich traditions that accompany an evening of Texas A&M football on September 12, 2015. The Spirit of Aggieland is alive and well at the Home of the 12th Man. This Texas A&M tradition is familiar to sports fans throughout the country and came to life in 1922, when the Aggie football team suffered so many injuries in the Dixie Classic that the coach was compelled to call a student – E. King Gill – out of the stands to suit up and stand on the sidelines, ready to play. Today, Aggies continue to stand ready and willing to support their team, as evidenced by more than 31,000 students standing throughout the entire game.
